Charelton Lamb from Qubit got a hold of us on the phone and asked if we could shoot a video with IPhones? I almost didn’t take him serious and told him that is not what we usually do but honestly I was just a little bit curious so I asked him to tell me more.
Qubit is a very small competitor to Adobe. They had this great idea to crash this years summit with 20 Frankenstein’s with the message #DumpFrank the reason the wanted to use cell phones was not to distract people reactions to the Franks. Needless to say I was intrigued and without hesitation declared Heck Yah we can do it!
We shot with Drones, hidden Go Pro’s Samsung S 5 and the new IPhone 6 with image stabilization and we also set up a C-100 with a telephoto lens in the distance to capture some of the action with a “real video camera” All in all I was super impressed with how it all came together, one shot we got with 2 Franks being chauffeured in a bike cab from Salt City Bikes looked as though it was shot on a tripod with a slider it looked so smooth! The other agreement we made was to turn out a sizzle reel within 24 hours, We knew it had to be something great! We knew were were on a tight deadline! We also knew it was a total team effort. Moises Lemus was up for the task and worked late! Early the next morning the crew liked what they saw but wanted to tweak the feel a bit Charelton and Moises worked together and turned out exactly what they were looking for and we think it turned out great as well but you can be the judge!
